Rules and Information

  • Only signs designed and manufactured by TSA members will be eligible in categories 1-7. The exception being category 8. Signs previously entered will not be allowed in any of the categories.
  • Each member company may enter a maximum of (3) three entries per category described below.
  • All of the entries become the property of TSA.
  • Each TSA member/company is allowed (1) one ballot/vote.
  • The Frank Page Award is selected by TSA members from the first place winners only from categories 1-7. The first place winner in category 8 will not be considered.
  • TSA dues must be paid in full by the design and production member companies. Entries submitted from past due members will be returned to the submitting company.
  • All of the entries must be complete in order to be displayed for judging. Incomplete entries or entries not following the entry instructions will be disqualified.
  • The design contest committee reserves the right to break ties in the event that one does occur in the said category.

Entries must be received by midnight May 1, 2008.

Categories

  1. Large freestanding electric signs 100 sq. ft. or larger in any one direction.
  2. Smaller freestanding electric signs 99 sq. ft or smaller in any one direction.
  3. Electric building signs, illuminated internally and/or externally with exposed neon.
  4. Commercial signs, which are non-illuminated or externally illuminated. Category includes sandblasted, routed, vinyl, or painted renderings that may be attached or freestanding, dimensional letters mounted to a sub-surface such as brick or concrete are also included.
  5. Graphics and lighting.
  6. Awnings.
  7. Integrated sign design packages consisting of various signs used at one location to compliment each other. (None of the signs can be previous entries.)
  8. Signs manufactured by TSA members but designed by non-member firms and/or designers.


Restorations and renovations should also be placed in this category.
Awards

  • Awards will be presented to the winning sign designs for first, second and third place in each category. Merit awards will be presented to companies who enter but do not place in the contest.
  • The first place winners in categories 1-7 will be eligible for the Frank Page Award. The winner of this award is considered the best overall design and the designing artist will be awarded $500 from TSA.
